also in the same issue,
Miley Cyrus in the Rodarte boots you can only get if you call Rodarte and ASK.
I don't care that it is 100+ degrees outside right now. If I could wear nothing else, I'd wear the Chloe by Hannah McGibbon white flowy dress(3d pic) or the Zac Posen wool dress(2nd pic), AND RODARTE BOOTS. Forget everything else, if I had a choice, I would wear the Rodarte thigh high boots(they made them only knee high for Miley), ALL THE TIME, WITH EVERYTHING. I would tailor my entire wardrobe around those pair of boots.

In other news, I am in an interior design phase considering I get to put whatever the hell I want in my new room for college(not a dorm room, a room at my aunt's house).
I went to the Container Store, and I think heaven must look like that. Or like IKEA, which is where I am going to go on Thurs to get awesome little sconces or wall mounted spotlights.
Ideally, I'd like to wallpaper it with purple as the main color, and then put drapes on the window but not on the window, on the ceiling above the window as to make a little niche in the room. The drapes will be a light neutral. And then I want to make the sconces white, but the spotlights black (and energy saving light bulbs please, but no white light).
And somewhere, I'm going to put this poster I bought at the Met(Dovima with Elephants)framed and centered.
And then I am totally going to buy a sailor moon poster one day and put it up.
----
This is one of the coolest wallpaper/interior design companies that I have seen. Their designs are freaking fantastic. And one day when I am rich or at least have a place of my own and some money to blow, I am going to systematically decorate each room in my apartment/house differently and meticulously. I think my ultimate personal goals involve you know, finding true love, saving the world and all that jazz, but also, making my meglomania physically manifest itself.
And after I do all this, I would take amazing pictures.

but i'm pretty obsessed with oversized tops + no bottoms.
Dolce&Gabbana, Bow-embellished silk blouse, $300 at NetAPorter.
It was styled like this on the site,
But I think it can be worn on it's own(if you are small enough) with a pair of matchy shoes
Dolce&Gabanna Black Lace Bow Peeptoe, $470
These shoes are oddly shaped.
But I think they are still OK. Haha.
Alright, for a more affordable alternative. When I get a job and finally move out of my crazy house, I am going to stock my wardrobe with 12x12 from Forever21. I love these funky statement-type pieces, and I love the fact that they sell them at the mall now! I am also waiting for them to start selling Faith21 stuff, which is another higher end line. The problem with F21 is the quality sucks, but there are so many options and the prices are very decent.
On with the show
Sheer Tie Front Blouse, $30. Omg layer this with pearls and it's lovely. Did anyone see that picture of Rihanna wearing an all black outfit with a ton of pearls? Yeah, do the same thing here! It's also avail in black.I bought this but my mom threw it away. Oh well.
Also bought this in a larger size, it works great as a shirt-dress. I need Ace bandages though, haha.
When I am able to, I will walk around looking like a magazine spread. No joke. Over the top statement pieces and I will show up overdressed for everything.
And then there will be days when I walk around in a t-shirt and jeans or whatever. I hate jeans, but maybe that will change once I am thinner. My weight loss goals aren't in reach exactly bc I haven't been able to go to the gym in two weeks, but I have lost weight and I have worked on controlling what I eat very effectively. I only eat one meal now, woo.
To end, I want to post the styled photos from the twelvebytwelve site to show you what I mean about 'walking around looking like a magazine spread'.
And one last outfit styled with bottoms :)
And some cute anklet socks.
because new york is SO inspiring :)

I've been pretty much stuck at home and left to plan my life in San Antonio BY MYSELF for the past week. WHATEVERRR.
Anyway, I remembered suddenly the first day we were in NYC, and we visited Battery Park. It's basically a residential area next to the harbor where you jump on a ferry to see Lady Liberty, WHO WAS ACTUALLY SUPPOSED TO BE A BLACK WOMAN BREAKING THE CHAINS OF BONDAGE BUT ALL THE AMERICANS WERE LIKE HELL NAH (inside joke? sort of?).
We were sitting on these very art-deco type chair things and I looked next to me and there was an apartment building. The bottom floor was a fitness room and there was this lady running on a treadmill, and for the whole 20 minutes we sat there, she ran at the same pace which was amazing to me. There were also these people throwing around a fitness ball in an extremely synchronized manner. So then we went to this little corner grocery store, what you think of when you think of yuppies in NYC needing to get fresh fruit or vitaminwater in the morning. And I saw these two ladies buying things, and they were both wearing like, tanks and bottoms made of that exercise lycra. One of them had on this teal top and the other one had a magenta one, and one of them also had a baby in a stroller. What I was so flustered by, as we all threw our junk food onto the counter, was that both women were so FIT and pretty and in good shape. Again, NYC, yuppies, you get the idea. The lady with the baby was also mumbling sweet things to her child, but in some probably Slavic or Northern European language.
So THEN, I was thinking about how quaint that part of town was. You have pretty young singles or small urban families living in their condos, flats, lofts, etc with a lovely view of the harbor and neighborhood mom-and-pop shops littered all throughout. And you can go running in Battery Park(ps lots of ripped abs to be seen) and grab a redbull at the grocery store, and then hop on a subway and go to work or whatever. It's the best of the big city, but it is also very idyllic and less hectic.
So then I was thinking also about how women in NYC wear heels. On pavement. IN NYC. Where you have to walk like 2-5 miles any given day, which is not a big deal. But walking in YSL Tribute Sandals which are about 5 inches high, that is a big deal! And I totally saw a lady walking in YSL Tributes, black ones! And she was wearing a Nanette Lepore leopard print dress that was hot pink! And I totally saw the Nanette Lepore boutique on Madison! How exciting.
So then I looked up apartments in Battery Park to see the price range just because I am curious about that type of thing, and I found they run around $3000 for a one bedroom apartment. $5000 if you want two bedrooms. PS. No Central Air in NYC, almost anywhere. But they have gyms, health clubs, and some even have doormen or buzzers (Christina will appreciate this notion).
So then I was like thinking of if I was one of those yuppies, but much more stylish of course, and I had this miraculous ability to walk around in uber pumps all freaking day long, what would I wear? The style had to be simple and breathable for the nyc summer, and still with a basic comfort level. Given that and my latest obsession with unclean silhouettes, I put together a few pieces.
And this is my bottom line, some clothes. I'm sorry it took me 10 minutes to get to that. But I'd love to live in Battery Park. It's a calming place.
Sonia by Sonia Rykiel Vive la Rock T-Shirt, $200
These are by Gucci, like $1300. But you can get knock-offs for like, $30 on GoJane. Huzzah!
Jimmy Choo, $720
Jimmy Choo, $1300
Valentino Satin diamanté bow pump, $1000. Although the satin finish ruins this piece's potential as a casual item. So, maybe if they had a textured finish instead.
Jimmy Choo, $950
OR IF YOU ARE NOT CRAZY
you could wear flats :)
to give structure, $350 by Acne. Leather gladiator sandals.
caravelle gladiator sandals, $200. There is not enough shoe for me to pay more than $20 for these! But they are simple, and make my point.
Accessories, I won't post. But like, an unstructured huge bag, and lots of chain-link necklaces. Perhaps a square ring.
OH A VERY IMPORTANT POINT.
It is hard to wear lots of black during the summer, even if it's an oversized t-shirt and heels. So I would say that you could tone down the aggressiveness of the color by wearing a very thin boyfriend blazer in like, a navy blue. Sleeves rolled up of course!
Inspiration, from menswear itself, at dior 09. the satorialist posted a pic. but sheer jackets would be amazing for garconne style women's clothing.

There are certain shoes I day dream about.

One of those pairs of shoes are featured in this image by Sebastian Kim.
I couldn't figure out what they were. Obviously, Louboutin, but which ones? There are hundreds of different types of them. More importantly, I had seen these in gold before, tons of times. So after a single Google search, I decided to just look on the C.Louboutin website. That's something so many people neglect, just looking on the website ><. Okay, they are the Louboutin Differa. Six inch heels, six straps. Around $1500. I would wear these, all the time, with everything. I want one in black, gold, and powder blue. While I tend to prefer black for it's versatility, I think I'd wear the powder blue the most, followed by gold, followed by black. I am looking for decent 'knock-offs' but I don't think I will find something that comes close to capitalizing on the femme fatale + lolita edge these shoes have. I think they are from C.L. for Rodarte.
More C.Louboutin for Rodarte.
Affordable alternative? Christian Siriano for Payless, out soon. They run around $45. They have a similar spike heel and um, spike decor.
They (Differa) would go with basically any of the cyberpunk gunmetal pieces at Rodarte F09.
Or anything cut by christopher decarnin(balmain). This is from F09 as well.
Pleasant dreams!
